Charles G. Fletcher, Jr.

Executive Vice President

Value Delivered

By keeping Mesa on the cutting edge of today’s technology, Charlie enables the firm to consistently provide its clients with the very best in service delivery methodologies and innovative ideas, while obtaining maximum return on their facilities investment. To achieve this, he maintains a continuous dialogue with key clients, knowledgeable engineers and industry experts. By keeping him in touch with vital industry trends, these conversations enable him to identify and implement the advanced technological solutions that differentiate the company from its competitors.

This strategic approach has yielded some significant achievements. Under Charlie’s direction, the company developed the FieldCentrix Enterprise Solution, a field service wireless communications network that lets technicians communicate between the field and the home office via the internet. More recently, he led the company’s designation as a retrofit and startup representative for the leading-edge Danfoss Turbocor compressor. And currently, he is working to transform Mesa into a leading energy solutions provider. In addition, he is involved in establishing processes, procedures and best-in- class standards that can be applied across the company. For instance, he wrote and continues to oversee the company’s ISO 9001/2000 certification, as well as its rigorous Quality Assurance Program.

Expertise

Charlie began his HVAC career in 1978, working for five years with various mechanical construction companies as a sheet metal worker, operations manager and sales engineer. Recognizing the need for high-caliber contractors in California’s growing construction industry, he founded Mesa in 1984 and played an integral role in the company’s growth from a small business with a solid reputation into a forward-looking, best-in-class service contractor. As CEO and senior vice president, he guided the company through its 1999 merger with EMCOR and the ensuing expansion of its capabilities and resources.

Charlie earned his bachelor’s in mathematics at the State University of New York, Cortland. He holds a California contractor’s license and is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the Association of Electrical Engineers (AEE), the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), the International Facilities Managers Association (IFMA), the Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA), and the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association (SMACNA). He recently joined the United States Green Building Council and is a LEED Accredited Professional.

The Personal Side

Charlie and his wife of 29 years have two boys. In addition to his family, he enjoys hiking, playing basketball, riding mountain bikes, reading novels, snowboarding, skiing and surfing.
