Vice President of Finance and Administration
Butch and his team provide the IT infrastructure support to allow seamless communication, structure and support to meet the customer needs and requirements. He and his team, along with the purchasing power of EMCOR as a national entity, negotiate the best pricing on Materials, allowing Mesa to pass the savings on to their customers. Mesa’s fleet of vehicles, approximately 300 strong, is one the best maintained and has one of the safest incident records on the road. The use of GPS with in our fleet allows for the quickest response time possible to meet customer demand. Accounts receivable and collections, normally viewed as an adversary to a customer, falls under Butch’s responsibilities. Butch drives to develop a partnership with the customer, ensuring both Mesa and the customer meet the requirements of contract that were agreed to up front.
A CPA by trade, gaining accreditation from Ernst & Whinney, Butch has experience in both manufacturing and Service, from both a financial and operations standpoint. He spent 20 years with Steelcase, the world’s largest office furniture provider. His role with Steelcase was in both the operation and financial arenas: from product development to running the floor production, from payroll to Controller of a $350 million manufacturing operation. This rounded background taught him the following attitudes: that the customer comes first, to do it right the first time, and to do what you said you were going to do.
Butch holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from California State University at Long Beach.
The Personal Side
Butch loves the outdoors, especially related to fishing, water skiing, and golf. He has traveled the west coast, from Alaska to Mexico, fishing the salt waters for all types of big game fish. His most precious time is the time he gets to spend with his daughter.
