By keeping him in touch with vital industry trends, these conversations enable him to identify and implement the advanced technological solutions that differentiate the company from its competitors.
This strategic approach has yielded some significant achievements. Under Mr. Fletcher’s direction, the company developed the FieldCentrix Enterprise Solution, a field service wireless communications network that lets technicians communicate between the field and the home office via the internet. More recently, he led the company’s designation as a retrofit and startup representative for the leading-edge Danfoss Turbocor compressor. And currently, he is working to transform Mesa into a leading energy solutions provider. In addition, he is involved in establishing processes, procedures and best-in- class standards that can be applied across the company. For instance, he wrote and continues to oversee the company’s ISO 9001/2000 certification, as well as its rigorous Quality Assurance Program. Recently, he led a Mesa Team on a clean energy campaign for their vehicles by being one of the first companies in the industry to utilize CNG service vehicles.
Mr. Fletcher began his HVAC career in 1978, working for five years with various mechanical construction companies as a sheet metal worker, operations manager and sales engineer. Recognizing the need for high-caliber contractors in California’s growing construction industry, he founded Mesa in 1983 and played an integral role in the company’s growth from a small business with a solid reputation into a forward-looking, best-in-class service contractor. As CEO and Senior Vice President, he guided the company through its 1999 merger with EMCOR and the ensuing expansion of its capabilities and resources.
Mr. Fletcher earned his bachelor’s in mathematics at the State University of New York, Cortland.
