Director of Human Resources

As Director of Human Resources, Michael is responsible for managing the recruitment and interviewing process, preparing job offers, compiling employment packages, and conducting background checks. He also oversees implementation of management training and career development programs; helps select, promote, and process company benefit offerings; and enables systematic, rigorous, and fair performance evaluations.
In addition, he coordinates employee communications and ensures that all employee handbooks are up to date. Michael is responsible for various other duties, such as ad hoc reporting on new hires, promotions, keeping employment forms up to date, and tracking benefits costs. Michael plays a vital role in attracting and retaining the resources necessary to help clients succeed in today’s increasingly complex and challenging facilities environment.
Michael began his career in accounting and payroll but quickly gravitated toward a more human resources-centered role. In early 2003, he joined EMCOR Facilities Services as a Union Labor Analyst before joining EMCOR Services Mesa Energy Systems in 2008.
Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in business from California State University, Fullerton with a concentration in finance. He has attended a wide range of industry and professional training programs. In addition, he obtained PHR (Professional in Human Resources) designation through the Society of Human Resources Management.
The Personal Side
Michael and his wife have two children and two beagles. In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. His personal hobbies include mountain biking, snowboarding, and traveling.
