Steve Yowell, CEM

Director of Automation

Value Delivered

Steve designs, installs, and maintains automated systems that help optimize energy usage within buildings. Ultimately, his primary responsibility is to deliver value by overseeing the implementation of projects that promote energy efficiency.

To achieve this, Steve collaborates with stakeholders such as architects, engineers, and contractors to help seamlessly integrate automation systems into a building's design. After construction, he monitors system performance to help ensure they deliver the intended energy savings.

In all his work, Steve’s goal is to help clients reduce their carbon footprint, save energy costs, and improve sustainability through the use of cutting-edge building automation systems (BAS).

Expertise

For over 23 years, Steve owned and operated Mechanical Products BAS, before its acquisition by EMCOR. In this time, he was also involved in the co-development of Peak Demand Manager (PDM), an automation software that helps optimize building operation to align with the utility rate structure.

Steve holds an Associate in Science in HVAC technology from Gateway Community College and Bachelor of Science in manufacturing engineering technology from Arizona State University. He is a Certified Energy Manager and a member of the Association of Energy Engineers.

The Personal Side

Steve is married with two grown children. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, camping, mountain biking, restoring classic cars, and taking fishing trips to Mexico.
